Roderic Ai Camp is a professor of government at Claremont McKenna College. He earned a Ph.D. in comparative politics and history from the University of Arizona. His interests include Mexican politics, comparative elites, political recruitment, church-state relations, and civilmilitary affairs. He is a frequent consultant to national and international media, including the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, National Public Radio, and the BBC. The author of numerous articles and twenty books on Mexico, his most recent publications include: Politics in Mexico, the Democratic Consolidation (Oxford, 2007) and Mexico’s Military on the Democratic Stage (Praeger, 2005).
