Alberto Díaz-Cayeros is an Associate Professor at the School of International Relations and Pacific Studies, and Director of the Center for U.S.-Mexican Studies. Previously, he was an Assistant Professor at Stanford University. In 1997, Professor Díaz-Cayeros received his Ph.D. in Political Science from Duke Univeristy. His research interests include poverty, development, federalism, clientelism, and patronage. He is currently working on a book manuscript entitled
Strategies of Vote Buying: Social Transfers, Democracy, and Welfare in Mexico.
