Ricardo Gómez-Vilchis is a Ph.D. candidate in Political Science at the University of California, San Diego and is currently a visiting fellow at the Center for U.S.-Mexican Studies. He was awarded the Medalla Gabino Barreda by the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) in 1999. He received an M.A. in Political Science and Social Studies in 2002 from the UNAM with honors. As an assistant professor at the UNAM from 2001 to 2004, Gómez-Vilchis taught several courses including Political Theory, Contemporary Sociology, and Introduction to Epistemology. His current project is titled "Presidential Approval in Mexico (1998-2006), Determinants and Effects."
