Biography

Ana Barbara Mungaray-Moctezuma is an associate professor at the School of Economics and International Relations at the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC) in Mexico where she heads the Ph.D. program in Global Development Studies. She is a member of Mexico´s National Research System - Level I.

Her research interests include political economy of development, politics of poverty reduction, education and community development. In her recent work, she explores the nexus between communities and formal and informal institutions along the U.S.-Mexico border. She holds a Ph.D. in economics from UABC and a master’s degree in Latin American studies from UC Los Angeles.
