SymposiumThis year's symposium overarching theme was promoting development in Mexico by addressing the issues of regulation, human capital, social protection, informal economy, and entrepreneurship. The theme was inspired by a paper written by IR/PS Professor Gordon Hanson titled, "Why Isn't Mexico Rich?" |
Mexico Street FairThroughout the day, guests enjoyed the "Mexico Street Fair." They engaged in musical performances, learned about exciting destinations in Baja California and checked out displays on academic work and social involvement by UC San Diego students. Event was free and open to the public. |

Best of Baja ExpoAt the end of the day guests joined the symposium participants and attendees at a reception highlighting the culture and food of Baja California. This event was free and open to the public and took place at the International House Great Hall. Sponsored by the government of Baja California. |
