Cancellation Summer Seminar
Pac Rim Summer Seminar in U.S. Studies
After much thought and discussions, the management of the Center for U.S.-Mexican Studies has arrived at the very difficult decision of suspending the Summer Seminar in U.S. Studies. All organized research units (ORU’s) of the University of California at San Diego, including the Center for U.S.-Mexican Studies, are undergoing programmatic and fiscal review. As a result, all of the ORU’s have to focus their efforts and resources to developing new research activities and identifying sources of funding for them. The funding of the Summer Seminar has always required a Herculean effort and given the Center’s evolving research agenda, we have to devote all of our efforts to securing research and funding partners for new research activities.
The Center is proud of the nineteen successful years the Summer Seminar in U.S. Studies. We are grateful to the excellent faculty that have participated over the years and are especially grateful to the over 500 graduates of the program.
