Academic Background
Lara received her PhD from the University of Chicago in Comparative Human Development, specializing in cultural anthropology. She received her B.A. with honors in Anthropology and Spanish from the University of California at Berkeley. Her dissertation research, based in Mexico City, was funded by Fulbright-Hays and University of Chicago’s Center for Latin American Studies grants. Currently, she is revising her dissertation for publication as a monograph and journal articles.
