This paper discusses the major opinions of Mexico's Supreme Court concerning the legitimacy of the administrative boards of conciliation and arbitration in the period 1918-1929. The paper contends that in this period the Supreme Court's case law mattered, and can be examined as an evolving body of doctrine, which partially determined important aspects of labor law through the 1920s.
