Biography
Rafael Velazquez is an international relations professor at the University of Baja California, Mexico. He holds a Ph.D. in international studies from the University of Miami. He is a Fulbright fellow and past president of the Mexican International Studies Association (AMEI). He is a regular member of the Mexican Academy of Sciences (AMC) and he is part of the National System of Researchers (SNI), a governmental agency that promotes technology and sciences in Mexico. Velazquez is president of the Center for Teaching and Analyzing Mexican Foreign Policy (CESPEM), a Mexican think tank that studies Mexico's international interactions.
He has participated in different national and international conferences and has published several books and scientific articles on his research interests. He has been visiting professor at different universities in Mexico, the U.S, Argentina, Spain and Germany.
